Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy an evening herping walk around Entebbe and the nearby wetlands. This area is known for frogs, geckos, chameleons, and other reptiles. Overnight in Entebbe.

Day 2: Entebbe Botanical Gardens and Mabamba Wetlands

After breakfast, visit Entebbe Botanical Gardens for reptiles, amphibians, birds, and butterflies. In the afternoon, visit Mabamba Wetlands. During the evening, enjoy a night herping excursion to search for frogs, snakes, and nocturnal reptiles. Overnight in Entebbe.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, drive to Kibale Forest National Park. Enjoy beautiful views of tea plantations, villages, and countryside landscapes along the way. Arrive in the afternoon and relax at the lodge. After dinner, enjoy a guided night walk looking for tree frogs, forest reptiles, and nocturnal wildlife. Overnight near Kibale Forest.

Day 4: Full Day Herping in Kibale Forest

Spend the day exploring Kibale Forest and surrounding wetlands. Search for various species of frogs, chameleons, lizards, snakes, and other forest reptiles. The forest is one of Uganda’s richest areas for amphibians. Enjoy another night of herping after dinner. Overnight near Kibale Forest.

Day 5: Transfer to Semuliki National Park

After breakfast, drive to Semuliki National Park in western Uganda. The park is famous for its Central African species and unique biodiversity. In the evening, explore forest trails and nearby wetlands for reptiles and amphibians. Overnight near Semuliki National Park.

Day 6: Full Day Herping in Semuliki National Park

Spend the entire day searching for rare reptiles, snakes, frogs, skinks, geckos, and chameleons. Semuliki offers excellent opportunities to find species that are difficult to see elsewhere in East Africa. Enjoy a guided night herping excursion. Overnight near Semuliki National Park.

Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way, stop for wildlife viewing and photography. In the evening, explore suitable habitats around the park for reptiles and amphibians. Overnight near Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 8: Herping and Wildlife Viewing in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Spend the day exploring different habitats including savannah, wetlands, and forests. Search for reptiles and amphibians while also enjoying opportunities to see elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and many bird species. Night herping after dinner. Overnight near Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 9: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This ancient rainforest is home to many unique reptiles and amphibians. Arrive in the afternoon and relax before an evening herping walk around the forest edge. Overnight near Bwindi.

Day 10: Full Day Herping in Bwindi Forest

Spend the day exploring different forest trails searching for chameleons, frogs, snakes, skinks, geckos, and other rainforest species. Bwindi is one of the best locations in Uganda for forest herping. Night herping activity after dinner. Overnight near Bwindi.

Day 11: Second Day Herping in Bwindi

Continue searching for additional species in different habitats of the forest. The day provides excellent opportunities for photography and observation of rare amphibians and reptiles. Evening night walk for nocturnal species. Overnight near Bwindi.

Day 12: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo National Park. The park offers a different habitat with savannah, rocky outcrops, and wetlands. Spend the evening searching for reptiles including agamas, geckos, snakes, and various amphibians. Overnight near Lake Mburo.

Day 13: Full Day Herping in Lake Mburo National Park

Spend the day exploring the park and surrounding areas. Search for reptiles and amphibians while enjoying the beautiful scenery and wildlife. In the evening, enjoy a final night herping excursion. Overnight near Lake Mburo.

Day 14: Return to Entebbe and Departure

After breakfast, drive back to Entebbe. Stop at the Equator for photographs and souvenirs. Continue to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your 14 days Uganda Herping Safari.
