Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

  • Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where our team will warmly welcome you.
  • Transfer to your hotel for a briefing about the tour.
  • Evening relaxation and preparation for an exciting adventure.

Day 2: Birding in Mabamba Swamp

  • After breakfast, embark on a morning birdwatching session in Mabamba Swamp.
  • Look for the iconic Shoebill along with Blue Swallow, Papyrus Gonolek, and Malachite Kingfisher.
  • Transfer back to Entebbe for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

  • Drive to Lake Mburo National Park, known for its mixture of savannah and wetland birds.
  • Afternoon birding session in the park to spot species such as the White-winged Warbler and African Finfoot.
  • Overnight in Lake Mburo National Park.

Day 4: Birding in Lake Mburo and Transfer to Bwindi

  • Morning birding in Lake Mburo, followed by a scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
  • Evening arrival in Bwindi, check into your lodge.
  • Overnight at Bwindi.

Days 5-6: Birding in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

  • Two full days of birdwatching in Bwindi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Target species include African Green Broadbill, Shelley’s Crimsonwing, and Mountain Masked Apalis.
  • Bwindi also offers the chance to spot primates, including mountain gorillas (optional activity).
  • Overnight stays in Bwindi.

Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

  • Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park, known for its various birdlife and ecosystems.

Days 8-9: Birding in Queen Elizabeth National Park

  • Evening birdwatching in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary.

Day 11: Birding in Kibale National Park

  • Full-day birding in Kibale, looking for the Black-billed Turaco, Green-breasted Pitta, and Abyssinian Ground-Thrush.
  • Overnight at Kibale.

Day 12: Transfer to Semuliki National Park

  • Morning transfer to Semuliki, known for its outstanding birdlife influenced by the Congo basin.
  • Afternoon birdwatching in Semuliki National Park, home to over 400 bird species.
  • Overnight stay in Semuliki.

Day 13: Full Day Birding in Semuliki National Park

  • Full day exploring Semuliki’s lush lowland forests, where you can see the Nkulengu Rail, Long-tailed Hawk, and Yellow-throated Cuckoo.

Day 14: Return to Entebbe & Departure
